Geomag Supercolor Panels Recycled 78 pcs, By Geomag - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Colourful & innovative magnetic construction set

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  5 year-old ++

Who would love this: Kids that love to build / and parents who are looking for sustainably-made toys

Geomag is a true master when it comes to magnetic construction toys. I have not seen a Geomag set that doesn’t excite me so far. We have previously tested out various Geomag sets including its classic magnetic rods and spheres which we genuinely love; this “Geomag Supercolor Panels Recycled 78 pcs” uses similar construction concept, but elevates the experience by adding a touch of vibrancy and strength using innovative building “panels”!

Why I love ❤️ it:

(1) Magnetic + Explosion of Colours -  It’s no secret that I have an immense fascination with architectural designs. There is just some inexplicable charm seeing structures built up using basic skeleton frames and connecting joints. What I love most about this set is how it added an element of “facade” to the models using a range of bold colours. Included within are 78 construction pieces - 28 magnetic rods, 20 steel spheres, and 30 interlocking panels in triangle, square and pentagon. Like the other Geomag Classic sets, each of the bar has magnets positioned on both ends, and can be connected using the “metal sphere” being the “joint”. We can build symmetrical geometric structures, or something more “iconic” and unusual. The plastic panels reinforce the structural integrity, and give the models a brand new look with explosion of colours! In other words, we get to build something higher, crazier, and more solid using the panels.

(2) 100% Recycled Plastic - This product is made of 100% recycled plastic and the packaging is made of 61% recycled materials. Geomag is made in Switzerland, with great quality control, meets the most rigorous European safety standards, and is also environmentally friendly - ticking ✅ all the right boxes again!

(3) Explore Magnetic Polarity - Like the usual Geomag Classic range, the set allows kids to explore the magic of polarity, demonstrating magnetic interaction between bars and spheres with visual experiments.

(4) Other Great Features - I love the small-sized and compartmentalised storage cases (which by the way, is also made of 100% recycled plastic) for the rods and spheres. Geomag sets are compatible with each other, which means we can always expand our collection to build something mightier and more magnificent!

Mechanics Motion Recycled Magnetic Gears 96, By Geomag

Nature/ Type:          STEM toy using magnetic repulsion to create mechanical movement

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  7 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents & kids looking for unique, sustainable, and cleverly- done construction + STEM toys

Geomag is one of my favourite brands that is known for making science approachable and entertaining for kids. Each of its range focuses on different physics and mechanic principles, using exciting experiments to demonstrate specific outcomes. “Geomag - Mechanics Motion Recycled Magnetic Gears 96” is a unique STEM toy that I truly enjoyed!

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Magnetic Repulsion - We know how a classic gear mechanic works - it usually involves interlocking toothed wheels pushing each other, creating chain mechanical reaction that spins. Geomag boldly modifies the traditional gear mechanism, and uses the invisible force of magnetic repulsion to create similar movement. First, construct the suggested model using the bits and pieces included (there is a total of 96 cylindrical parts, modular connectors, magnetic rods, steel spheres, clear spinning bases etc). Next, test out the polarity of the magnetic rods - make sure that the repulsion end is facing outwards (i.e. the part that acts as the “teeth” of the gear). Once this is done, we can spin the first “gear” and watch how it interacts with the other structures to trigger a chain movement with the invisible force of magnetism (and it’s so mesmerising to watch, even for adults!). We have played with many magnetic tiles and blocks before which use the principle of magnetic attraction for structure-building. But this is the very first toy that I have tested that uses the principle of magnetic repulsion. Suffice to say, I’m excited and absolutely loving the new experience!

(2) 3 Models To Construct - The instruction booklet includes 3 building ideas; the first model has two spinning structures that push (or repel) each other away, causing a graceful “merry-go-round” movement. The second model uses magnetic force to create two “angry crocodiles” that snap repeatedly, and the third model reminds me of an amusement park “swing around” ride that triggers a circling motion of another spinning wheel.

(3) Recycled Plastic - This set is proudly made of 80% recycled plastic - a fantastic sustainable toy. It is made in Switzerland and aligned with the most stringent European and international safety standards.

Geomag Glow (60 Pcs), By Geomag - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Glow-in-the-dark magnetic rods

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  3 year-old ++ (I would recommend supervised play for any kids under 5)

Who would love this: Kids and adults who enjoy building/ construction related toys (especially one that glows in the dark!)

I love iconic architecture and I’m fascinated with structural designs that can stand up to the test of time. I LOVE construction toys, especially those that can demonstrate engineering principles in delightful way! We received this Geomag Glow (60 Pcs) recently, and I’m super stoked to test out this smartly-designed toy!

Why I love ❤️ this toy:

(1) Build Exciting Structures - It’s fascinating to discover the building possibilities using just 28 spheres, 28 magnetic rods, and 4 plastic bases in square and pentagonal (illustrative guidance sheet included). That’s our basic structural elements: foundation, skeleton frame, and connectors. Each of the bar has magnets positioned on both ends, and can be joined together with angle adjustments using the steel spheres. First, lay out the  flat “foundation” with 2D geometric shape (rhombus, trapezoid, pentagon, or basic square etc), before building vertically upwards into something more structurally complex such as a tetrahedron (triangular pyramid), octahedron, hexahedron (cube), or dodecahedron (of 12 “surfaces”). We can also create unique structures with special characteristics, and I love the strong magnetic strength!

(2) GLOW In The Dark - The kids are thrilled with the “glow in the dark” feature! The pale green rods can absorb and accumulate energy when exposed to a light source. Once the surrounding turns dark, the sticks glow brightly in sharp mysterious (and Halloween-feel) green!

(3) 100% Recycled Plastic - The product is made of 100% recycled plastic, and the packaging is made with over 70% recycled materials. The magnetic rods attain their beautiful glow using 100% natural substances. I love that Geomag is made in Switzerland and is environmentally friendly!

(4) Explore Magnetic Polarity - The set allows kids to explore the magic of polarity. It’s captivating to see how the bars and spheres interact with each other with embedded magnetism and invisible force!

(5) Organised Storage Cases I also love the compact and compartmentalised plastic storage cases that keep all the rods and spheres neatly

Geomag Glow comes in sets of 25, 42 and 60 pieces (in other words, this toy is full of potential to expand!)

Magicube 32 Pieces, By Geomag - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Gorgeous Magnetic Blocks / Cubes

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  1- 5 year-old

Who would love this: Anyone! These blocks are just super FUN to play with.

Few months back, we tested out and wrote about Geomag Magicube 13 pieces - the basic and smaller set that shows us how simplicity can captivate us with hours of fun! Today, I’m going to talk about Magicube 32 pieces and tell you how this massive set of blocks unleashes the full potential of building creativity of our little people!

Why I love ❤️ this toy:

(1) Limitless Possibilities - Magicube is, as per its name, magically enchanting with its gravity defying ability and six-sided invisible magnetic attachment, enabling the blocks to do more than just the traditional vertical tower built. Included within are 26 magnetic building blocks in 4 different shapes (cubes, quarter circles, triangles, and half-sphere), 2 wheelbases, 4 rolling wheels in two different sizes, and an idea sheet. The colours are stunningly eye-catching - dark green, lime green, dark orangey yellow, red, blue, white, and grey for the wheels. The 13 pieces set has always been highly popular in our family, but this 32 pieces set elevates the degree of imaginative fun to a whole new level! We built easy models such as a 6-piece boat, miniature car, and rainbow whale. We then challenged ourselves with something more sophisticated like the Trojan horse, pyramid (with a giant sphere sitting right on the tip), an hourglass (with a sphere hanging in the midst of the arch structure). The kids also built something “crazy” and unconventional, outside of the suggested models in the idea sheet. It was a non-stop process of constructing and deconstructing, and none of us could get enough of these stimulating blocks!

(2) Great For Young Kids - I love how chunky and feathery-light these cubes are. They have zero-polarisation restriction and are easy to connect. The magnets attach well, but not too strong, which is fantastic for little hands to pull the cubes apart independently with zero frustration.

(3) 100% Recycled Plastics - The blocks are manufactured from 100% recycled plastics, which is a BIG PLUS as an eco-friendly choice!

(4) Quality + Standard - The Magicube pieces are made in Switzerland. They are sturdy, durable, and comply with the strictest European and International safety standards - another BIG plus!

We LOVE it!

Magicube 13 pieces, By Geomag - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Clever magnetic building blocks

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  1- 5 year-old

Who would love this: Young kids that love building blocks!

Building blocks are classic, timeless, and never run out of style. But when we combine traditional blocks with magnetic charm, they become MAGIC! Geomag recently sent us a set of Magicube 13 pieces for review - once again, it’s proven that we don’t need anything too complicated to keep the kids enchanted with hours of fun.

Why I love ❤️ this toy:

(1) 100% Recycled Plastic- Magnetic blocks are no stranger in the toy market, but I think what really sets Magicube apart is the assurance of sustainability - the blocks are manufactured from 100% recycled plastics and contained in a packaging made of 80% recycled PET. With all the debates around plastic toys and going green, I think this is a BIG PLUS.

(2) Magnetic Blocks + 6 Sided Attachment - The set comes with 13 magnetic pieces with six-sided attachment for free-style building (in other words: gravity defying and not just the usual vertical build!). You get 4 rolling wheels, 2 wheel bases, 2 cubes, 2 quarter circles, 2 half-cubes, and a half-sphere. They are chunky, light-weight, easy to connect with no polarisation restriction. I love the harmonised colours in dark green, lime green, bright yellow, white, and grey. I wasn’t too sure initially about the value of this toy: with the wheels fitted onto the bases, there are essentially just 9 separate pieces for the kids to do their mix and match. But any doubt about this toy soon vanished: my three-year-old LOVES it! She was completely engrossed playing with them. It was a non-stop process of building, destructing, repeating. The creative possibilities are (surprisingly) almost limitless! The magnets attach well but are not too strong, and produce an addictive clicking sound when connected. It’s easy to be pulled apart by toddlers without much frustration. I also love the illustrated idea sheet for inspiration.

(3) Wheels In 2 Different Sizes- I love that the four wheels come in two different sizes, which gives the creations some unique dynamics and angles.

(4) Quality- The toy is made in Switzerland; the quality control is top-notch with smooth finishes and good material. Geomag manufacturing complies with the strictest European and International safety standards - another BIG plus!

Love this!

Mechanics Gravity Loops & Turns, By Geomag

Nature/ Type:          Clever STEM Toy with exciting Loops and Turns

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  8 year-old ++

Who would love this: Science + Construction/ Building / Marble Run lovers!

We have tested three sets of Geomag Mechanics Gravity range, each has its own uniqueness and features that get us excited. But this Mechanics Gravity Loops & Turns is, without a doubt, the boy’s ultimate favourite. Today, I’m going to share with you the what, why, and WOW of this ingenious STEM toy!

Why I love ❤️ this toy:

(1) Loops & Turns 360 Degree- This set comes with 130 mechanical elements (connectors, magnetic rod, cylindrical and modular parts, clear ramps, steel spheres, and instruction booklet) to build a circuit system that loops and turns! The most distinctive feature of this kit is the “loopy” ramp that turns 360 degree like an adrenaline-pumping roller coaster in mini scale! This set also comes with two innovative cannons; When a moving sphere hits the cannon piece, the attraction force is triggered and launches the ball at the other side in incredibly furious speed, sends it to a 360 degree loop and back to its starting spot. I love how engaging and stimulating the experience is. The futuristic colours (green, white, blue, bold orange) add on to the aesthetic level of this creative structure.

(2) Straight-Forward Instructions- The recommended age of this toy is 8, but once you get used to the assembling techniques, a younger kid (like my six-year-old) can also participate in the building process and be part of this impressive experiment! The only part which is a little more challenging to slot in is probably the turning ramps. Other than that, the connection is generally straight-forward. I love the satisfying “click” sound when some of the parts are connected correctly. The illustration booklet has detailed diagrams with step-by-step guide on how to link the pieces together, which I find really helpful.

(3) Quality- I love the Swiss made quality. I also love the fact that this set is made of 74% recycled plastic. You gotta love a brand that plays a part in sustainability! The product is aligned with stringent European and international safety standards, which is a BIG tick! ✅

(4) Expandable - MOST importantly, the set can be combined with other kits from the “Gravity Mechanics” range and make one BIG exciting track! Watch the videos below!

Mechanics Gravity Race Track, By Geomag - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:         Cool STEM toy with exciting race track run

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  8 year-old ++

Who would love this: STEM + construction/ building + ball run lovers!

Mechanics Gravity Race Track is another spellbinding Geomag creation that we really love! Imagine magnetic charm, chain reaction, invisible forces of nature, and accelerated speed, combined with inventive engineering construction. That’s Geomag for you!

Why I love ❤️ this toy:

(1) Smart STEM Toy - This set comes with 67 pieces in various cylindrical parts, modular pieces, connectors, magnetic rod, ramps, steel spheres, instruction booklet, and a super COOL magnetic cannon that works MAGIC! We love the modern and futuristic green, blue, white and bold orange, with translucent tracks for fast and furious ball run. The completed structure displays a circular racing track that visually demonstrates the law of magnetic physics; When a moving sphere hits the cannon piece, the attraction force reacts by propelling a ball at the other side, launching it in exceeding speed to travel in a circular circuit and back. I love the engaging and stimulating way to learn about science!

(2) Straightforward Building Process- The recommended age for this toy is 8 year-old, but it is not too overly hard for a 6-year-old to build, especially once we understood the assembling techniques. This set took us around 30 minutes to complete. Our six-year-old struggled a little slotting the cursive ramps, but other than that, the process is generally straight-forward. I particularly love the satisfying and audibly “click” when the clear tunnels are fitted onto the blue connectors. I love the illustrative step-by-step instructions booklet!

(3) Space-Saving + Easy To Dismantle- I also love that the fully assembled structure does not take up much table space. It’s also easy to dismantle the structure and store away the separable pieces.

(4) Quality- I love the Swiss made quality, meeting of stringent European and international safety standards, and the fact that this set is made of 76% recycled plastic! It’s always great to know the environmental stance taken by a toy brand that we support!

(5) Expandable- MOST IMPORTANTLY, this set can be combined with other kits from the “Gravity Mechanics” range to build into something MORE complex and brilliantly thrilling! I will share more in the coming posts! Stay tuned.

Invisible gravity force, magnetic charm, speed and engineering construction! YES YES YES!!! Geomag has blew us away again with its innovation. Thank you for providing this “Mechanics Gravity Recycled Vertical Motor 183” to me for review. We’re loving this!!

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Exciting Track Circuit- This set comes with 183 pieces in various geometric shapes, connectors, accessories, magnetic rod, ramps, steel spheres, and an instruction booklet. We love the futuristic green, white and bold orange! The completed structure displays the power of gravity in a fast motion marble run track! First, load the spheres, manually spin the propeller, and watch miniature balls travel-down an elevator, before joining a track circuit that accelerates and turns and descends into a capturing pen. We love marble run, and this set ticks all the right elements we are looking for: aesthetically-cool, interesting to watch, and super fun to build! I love a STEM toy that is educational, stimulating, and mechanically exciting!

(2) Easy To Assemble- Despite the recommended age of 8 year-old, the set is reasonably easy to assemble once we understood the techniques. We took around 45 minutes to complete this structure; the six-year-old struggled a little slotting the transparent ramps, but other than that, the process is generally straight-forward, full of common sense, and I particularly love the satisfying “click” when the clear tunnels are fitted onto the blue connectors.

(3) Good Quality - I love the Swiss made quality, meeting of stringent European and international safety standards, and the fact that the toy is made of 90% recycled plastic! I love a brand that shows its care towards the planet and plays a part in sustainability.
