My First Mandarin Busy Book, By Mandarin Prodigies - REVIEW

Nature / Type:             Busy Book/ Learning Binder

Rating:                        ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:    5 year-old ++

Who would love this:  Parents looking for engaging Mandarin-learning activities for bilingual kids

“My First Mandarin Busy Book” by Mandarin Prodigies is designed to captivate young learners while introducing them to Mandarin in a fun way. Targeting families with a bilingual background, this book is a rare find in the Australian market.

Why I love ❤️ it:

(1) 15 Hands-On Activities In Simplified Mandarin

This busy book offers a rich variety of 15 hands-on activities in simplified Mandarin. The book covers a mix of engaging exercises, including topics like animals, shapes, numbers, and the first 20 Chinese characters. We enjoy sorting waste and matching items to recycling bins (e.g., banana peel 香蕉皮 to “green waste” 堆肥), learning about measure words (like 一片面包, “a slice of bread”), grouping types of vegetable based on whether it’s a root vegetables (such as 土豆 potato) or those that grow above soil (such as 番茄 tomatoes). I especially LOVE the emotions page, where children match cute emoji symbols to corresponding Mandarin words. The book features 136 small, movable cards for children to match with the correct words.

(2) Mandarin Words With English Translations

The book features Mandarin words alongside English translations. For example, on the body parts page, children match Mandarin words like 头 (“head”) and 手 (“hand”) to their English equivalents. The activities also include instructions in English, such as “match the vehicles to the correct places,” and shape-matching exercises where kids pair a shape like “hexagon” with its Mandarin equivalent 六边形. At the back of the book, a vocabulary list provides simplified Mandarin words, their English translations, and pinyin.

(3) Spiral Binding In A4 Size

The book is thoughtfully designed with a spiral binding, allowing it to lay flat for easy use and exploration. Its A4 size is perfect for little hands, making it portable for travel. The pages are thick, glossy, and laminated for durability, securely bound with a sturdy round binder.

(4) Reusable Busy Book - Pieces With Velcro Dots

The best feature of this Busy Book is its reusability. Each piece is equipped with Velcro dots, allowing children to detach and reattach them countless times. The set also includes Velcro stickers for parents to attach to the book and small cards, along with extra sheets of replaceable Velcro components for long-lasting use.

Solar System Busy Book, By Busy Books Co - REVIEW

Nature / Type:             Busy book/ learning binder

Rating:                        ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:    2-6 year-old ++

Who would love this:  Any kids who love tactile activities/ solving puzzles/ completing tasks

Both of my kids have a cute fascination with completing tasks—they love the thrill of solving puzzles, sorting things, and discovering new facts. I’m excited to review the “Solar System Busy Book” from Busy Books Co, an Australian-designed and made activity book that offers a series of delightful learning experiences - perfect for fostering kids’ curiosity and sense of achievement while exploring the wonders of solar system!

Why I love ❤️ it:

(1) Learn About Solar System: Planets, Moon & Earth's Atmosphere

I haven’t come across many interactive solar system resources, so this Busy Book is a refreshing addition to our home-learning collection. The kids love rearranging the planets and moon based on their distance from the Sun (we especially LOVE admiring Saturn’s iconic rings). The creative matching exercises have been a hit, helping us learn about celestial objects like satellites, comets, and spaceship. 🚀 We also delved into the moon’s eight phases and the five layers of Earth’s atmosphere. Seriously, who says astronomy is boring?

(2) Beautifully Illustrated Pages With Solar-System Themed Activities

The book features many more beautifully illustrated pages with solar-system-themed learning activities. It includes letter matching (upper-case planets with lower-case rockets), visual pattern recognition, shape identification, star counting, numbered astronaut puzzle, space shuttle assembly, UFO color matching (with super adorable aliens), “find the other half” robot puzzles, and activities for learning more/less/equal and addition up to 5. This comprehensive binder offers a joyful learning experience. And the special bonding opportunities with the kids? Priceless!

(3) Great Quality Reusable Busy Book

The BEST feature about Busy Book - they are REUSABLE! The thick, glossy, double-laminated pages are securely bound with a durable round binder. All removable pieces are equipped with Velcro dots, allowing them to be detached and reattached countless times. Plus, the set thoughtfully includes two extra sheets of replaceable Velcro components.

(4) Yellow travel Bag For Easy Travel

I love the yellow travel bag with a zipper—it perfectly fits the lightweight Busy Book for easy travel. The sturdy storage box is a fantastic addition, offering excellent protection for long-lasting use. Simply amazing!

“LOGICO Primo” - Numbers Up To 10, by LOGICO - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Screen-free learning games

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  5 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents looking for non-electronic learning games for kids

One GREAT thing about LOGICO Primo: they grow with the kids! We have tested out 3 different activity booklets from Logico (Australia) ; “Thinking Skills” is fantastic for 3-year-old, "Comparing Quantities” targets kids around 4 year-old. Today, I’m going to share about “Numbers Up To 10” activity book which is aiming for kids around 5 year-old.

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Non-Electronic Learning Game - Logico is a non-electronic game that “feels” like an IPad, but is screen-free. It is a breath of fresh air amidst many battery-operated and fast-paced games in market. To play with LOGICO Primo, you need a Primo board - which is a tablet-sized frame with colourful, tactile and chunky moveable buttons. With this, you can insert game cards of different skill levels into the slot and kickstart the learning. LOGICO encourages kids to solve problems by performing multiple stages of thinking, from comprehending the question, identifying the answers, matching the colours, to pushing the buttons. It is incredible watching the kids playing with it!

(2) Skill Level & Age Specific Activities - Each activity booklet covers a specific area (shapes, colours, logical thinking, mathematics) and targets specific age bracket. For example, in “Comparing Quantities”, kids can complete the activities with just basic counting skill. For this “Numbers Up To 10”, kids need to do more than counting to solve the 16 puzzles; they need to be able to identify the actual numeral symbols (from 1 to 10). The activities include matching numeral symbols to the picture with identical number of objects, figuring out the “missing number” from a sequence, and comparing two sets of number (“more or less”). The illustrations are engaging, and the activities are arranged with progressive difficulty.

(3) Self-Check Answers! - The best feature is the self-checking system! Once the puzzles are done, kids can simply flip the cards over and confirm the answers independently. I love that these games give the kids a sense of achievement!

(4) Quality - This is a fantastic educational resources which would stand the test of time. The PRIMO frame is light-weight, solid, and compact, with no loose components. It is a marvellous travel companion!

Classic Kit - 5 Booklets set, By Happy Hands Co - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Handwriting-training kit with MAGIC pens included!

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  3 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents who are looking for the perfect handwriting-training kit that can keep the kids interested and engaged

I’m an avid fan of mystery stories with cool detectives, coded messages and invisible inks. 🕵🏻‍♂️ My heart beats excitedly when I discovered the Happy Hands Co and its inventive InvisInk! Today, I’m going to share about this Classic Kit - 5 Booklets set, and how it enchants us with the act of disappearing writings!

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Inventive InvisInk Pens - This set turns writing exercise into something magical. Included within are two InvisInk pens that look like something we can find in a secret agent movie. 😉 On the face, the pens seem deceptively ordinary like any other ballpoint pen. But wait till you start writing with it! The ink is bright and clear, and a few minutes later, it fades slowly and disappears altogether. We love the mess-free activity (NO eraser crumbs, ink-stained wiper, dirty pages, yay!). I love that the books are eco-friendly, reusable, and fascinating!

(2) 5 Books For Different Skill Levels - There are 5 books included in this Classic Kit, cater for a range of skill levels and ages! Each of the workbook focuses on a specific topic, with embossed grooves design to guide the child’s pen strokes, build muscle memory, and encourage independent learning. We have a book on “Shapes and Lines” (tracing and drawing exercises), “Alphabets” (with upper and lower cases) and “Numbers” (1 to 100) - fantastic for young kids to start from the basic! There are also something “harder” for the older kids - a workbook about “Days, Months and Seasons” (kids get to learn words like “January” to “December”) and “Sight Words” (some frequently used words). The set is designed in Melbourne and developed with the Australian curriculum. This set is perfect for family with siblings of different ages, and a great writing kit that can “grow with the kids” for different stages of learning.

(3) Other Accessories - The set also includes 2 fish pen grips and a wide pen grip; we have never tried using such pen-holding aid before and I’m pretty impressed with the moulded and ergonomic design. There are also 20 magic ink refills included for repeated practices with the magic pens!

(4) Carry Case - I love the handy carry case with handles, keeping all items neat and organised at one place.

“Comparing Quantities” LOGICO Primo, By LOGICO - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Educational Games/ Learning Resources

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  4 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents looking for screen-free educational resources/ mathematics learning worksheets in a fun and unique way!

With so many visually-stimulating and screen-centric learning resources in the market, I find LOGICO to be such a breath of fresh air. Today, I’m going to share about the “Comparing Quantities” LOGICO Primo set from Logico , a non-electronic educational toy perfect for young kids who enjoy anything engaging, not too fast-paced, and different!

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Non-Electronic Educational Game - Appearance wise, LOGICO Primo feels like a tablet with pushable buttons on an iPad-sized frame; but it’s non-electronic, non-battery-operated. It’s an educational game on a smartly-created frame, completes with double-sided learning cards. It’s a “matching” activity in an interesting and tactile way. “Comparing Quantities” is a mathematics counting game, but you don’t need to know the numerals (the actual symbols like 1, 2 and 3) to do the activities (which is perfect for young kids who have yet to learn how to write). There are multiple “thinking process” involved to complete the activities; first, solve the puzzle; next, match the colours; and lastly, push the 6 colourful PRIMO buttons around the board right next to the answers. It’s just pure joy watching the kids challenging themselves to another level!

(2) 16 Counting Activities - This set contains 16 mathematics games with a focus on counting up to 10. I love the bright and delightful illustrations. We started with the simple “matching pictures with same quantity” game, to the slightly more challenging “guess the dice number” game by counting the coloured dots on the path, “find the missing number”, and identifying which picture has “more” or “less”. I love that there are varying difficulty levels, from the straightforward activity, to the slightly trickier ones.

(3) Self-Check - The best part? The self-checking system definitely! Once the puzzles are done, simply flip the learning cards over, compare and confirm the answers. We love how LOGICO encourages independent learning.

(4) Easy-To-Travel PRIMO Frame - The PRIMO frame is light-weight, solid, with easy-to-manoeuvre and chunky push-buttons. I love that it’s such a compact board with no loose components, portable, easy to be brought around, and perfect for travel!

We love it!

LOGICO Primo- Thinking Skills, by LOGICO - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Non-electronic educational game with frame + learning cards

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  3 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents + young kids who enjoy learning through play!

We received a LOGICO Primo frame and learning card sets from LOGICO (Australia) for review, and we are THRILLED! We have a super exciting weekend testing out the “LOGICO Primo- Thinking Skills” set, and I can’t wait to tell you more about it today!

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Clever & Engaging Educational Game - LOGICO is a cleverly-designed educational game with great expandable potential. It reminds me of an IPad learning game, but minus the negative effects associated with electronic device. It also reminds me of a traditional “draw a line to match” worksheet, but in a more entertaining and tactile way! I am amazed watching my three-year-old repeatedly performed and completed her “3-steps mental process” when resolving the puzzles: first, she identified the answer; next, she matched the colours; Lastly, she pushed the 6 colourful PRIMO buttons around the board to position them at their correct spots. It looks complex, yet somehow it makes sense to the kids!

(2) Perfect For 3-Year-Old & Above - The “Thinking Skills” set contains 16 engaging and age-appropriate logic games for a 3-year-old with appealing illustrations. We enjoyed the games, from “finding the missing part”, matching the right “tool” to an activity (eg scissors to craftwork), and identifying the “missing” object. I love that the level gets more challenging progressively; it started off with straightforward tasks, and gradually moves to something trickier that command greater thinking skills (eg the “match the butterflies” game requires kids to closely observe the differences between 6 butterflies that have substantially similar patterns and colours). There is never a dull moment with LOGICO!

(3) Self-Check Answers - Once the kids have resolved the puzzles, they can flip the learning cards over and compare the answers. The self-checking system is amazing. My girl LOVES that she can play with this independently!

(4) Quality - The PRIMO frame is light-weight but solid. The push buttons are easy to manoeuvre, and I love that it doesn’t have any loose components, meaning we can easily bring LOGICO around. It can be played in the car, on the couch, or anywhere!

Stay tuned for more reviews of LOGICO activity sets!

Yellow Learning Binder, By Wondertivity

Nature/ Type:          Creative learning binder

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  3 - 7 year-old ++

Who would love this: Kids who love learning through play

My five-year-old has a cute fascination with doing “homework”; he finds tracing, colouring, writing, matching, circling very calming and enjoyable. I knew from the start that this Yellow Learning Binder from Wondertivity would interest him greatly, but what I didn’t expect was HOW MUCH he loves doing the activities! He sat through over an hour in ONE go, patiently completing one task after another with such joyful delight! “BEST homework ever!”, he called this 🤣.

Why I love ❤️ this learning binder:

(1) Creatively-Designed Pages- This lovely set consists of 30 beautifully illustrated and designed pages, full of FUN, FUN, FUN and more FUN! I love the careful and creative thoughts put into the pages - interactive, engaging, and educational, all in one amazing binder! I love the removable and stick-able numbers, words and counting fingers, accompanying the number-tracing activity from 1 to 10. I love the little test of “which number comes next” and “which comes in between”; I love the clever farm-themed puzzle that incorporates the element of number sequencing. We had loads of exciting moments doing addition, drawing lines, and colouring-in. My personal favourite is the colour-matching pages with super adorable monkeys and fuzzy beanies accessorised with pom pom at the top. I also love the pattern creation, shape recognition, dot-to-dot connecting, and I-spy pages with heartwarming objects like butterflies, honey pots, dippers, bee hives etc. They are AMAZING!

(2) Reusable Binder- I love that the binder is reusable. The pages are durable, thick, glossy, and wipe-able. The set comes with 5 multicoloured pens, neatly stored in a zip-locked sleeve pocket attached to the binder. The removable pieces with Velcro dots can be detached and re-attached numerous times.

(3) Match with Playdough- I love the smart collaboration with Dough My Dear - the play dough is such a cool sensory addition to the fantastic binder. We can stick the dough onto the pages, squeeze them like pancake, and create different shapes and sizes out of the gorgeously scented, luxuriously crafted dough.

Seriously, learning doesn’t have to be boring! Thank you Wondertivity , this book is WONDERFUL!!!
