Sunny Side Up, By Danspil - REVIEW

Nature / Type:             Board game

Rating:                        ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:     3 year-old ++

Who would love this:  Young kids / parents looking for first educational game for their younger kids

Some games sneak up on you—you don’t expect much at first, but the moment you start playing, you’re completely hooked! Sunny Side Up by Danspil may be made for ages 3 and up, but this game is surprisingly engaging, and we couldn’t stop laughing while playing! Huge thanks to Divisible by Zero for this delightful surprise!

Why I love ❤️ it:

(1) An Adorable Game - Roll The Die, Match Egg Cup, Fry An Egg!

Sunny Side Up is a simple yet adorable game for 2 to 4 players, designed for small kids - but trust me, even grown-ups won’t want to stop playing! The goal? Be the first to “fry” all your eggs and clear your basket. Roll the die, place eggs in the matching egg cups (unless someone else got there first—uh-oh, back to your basket it goes!), and if you’re lucky enough to roll a 6, you get to fry an egg with a super satisfying thump! Sounds easy, right? It is! But somehow, this game is ridiculously addictive—I can’t figure out why, and honestly, I don’t care. It’s just that fun!

(2) Nice Touch of Strategy

Think this is just a mindless roll-and-go game? Think again! Sunny Side Up sneaks in a touch of strategy. If you successfully place an egg in an empty cup or fry one in the pan, you get to roll again (as an option) —but here’s the catch. The more eggs already sitting in the cups, the riskier it gets! One unlucky roll could send extra eggs straight back to your basket. But if the board is looking empty? Well, maybe it’s worth taking a gamble! A little risk, a little reward!

(3) Two Dice - Classic Pips & Actual Numbers

The set comes with two dice—one with classic pips and one with actual numbers (1 to 6)—making it a perfect way for little ones to practice counting, matching, and recognizing numerals.

(4) Bright, Colourful, Brilliantly Thought-Out (Genius Fry-An-Egg Hole!)

I’m in love with the game’s design—bright, colorful, and brilliantly thought out! Each basket and cup has a little concave space to keep the eggs from rolling away (no messy chaos here!). The eggs themselves look just like the real thing, with one rounded end and one pointed end. And let’s talk about the best part—the genius fry-an-egg hole in the pan! Dropping an egg in and hearing that satisfying plonk never gets old. And those exasperated hens laying comically oversized eggs shown on the box cover —absolutely adorable!

Ultimo, By Mobi - REVIEW

Nature / Type:             Strategy game

Rating:                        ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:    8 year-old ++

Who would love this: Kids / adults that enjoy quick / simple games filled with strategy & planning

Ultimo by Mobi is a deceptively simple game filled with delightful surprises! When I first introduced it to my kids, I expected them to enjoy it, but I was amazed by how captivated they became. It’s clear the game is a hit when two young kids enthusiastically asked to play with it repeatedly! Thanks Divisible by Zero for providing this gem!

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) Quick Strategy Game With 15 Dice

Ultimo is touted as the world’s fastest strategy game, and it certainly lives up to that claim. Ultimo dice comes with variants of blue, green or purple. Each set contains 15 dice - 14 of one color and one yellow (or gold) die. Its beauty lies in its simplicity, with each round completed in under a minute. To set up, divide the dice into three groups of five. On your turn, you can take 1, 2, or 3 dice from the same group, but the golden die can only be picked last. Winner can take the last gold die alone, or with 2 or 3 others from the same group. It sounds simple, but we were genuinely impressed by the level of strategy involved! Players must think several moves ahead, much like in a fast-paced chess match where every decision matters.

(2) Adaptability - Mix-Up The Dynamics

One of the standout features of Ultimo is its adaptability. Players can reshape the game dynamics by dividing the dice into different number of groups in equal number, or adjusting the number of dice in each group. Each variation presents new challenges, tweaking the outcomes whilst offering a fresh experience to players!

(3) 12-Surface Dice For Better Grip & Game Experience

The dice used in Ultimo are not your typical dice. Instead, the set features dice with chunky and unique 12-surfaces design that provides better grip and control for a seamless game experience. This clever design eliminates the chaos of runaway dice (or rollaway balls), allowing players to concentrate on strategies without the distraction of chasing after errant pieces.

(4) Light-Weight & Travel-Friendly

I love that the game comes in a lightweight, travel-friendly tube, making it incredibly easy to bring along on trips or family outings. Its compact design ensures you can enjoy the excitement anywhere. This game is a delightful combination of strategy and fun, suitable for all ages. We love it!

You Little Stinker, By Exploding Kittens - REVIEW

Nature / Type:             Board game

Rating:                        ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:    4 year-old ++

Who would love this:  Kids that love dice games with cute "stinky" puppy theme!

Get ready for an adventure with “You Little Stinker” by Exploding Kittens —the absolute cutest dice game ever! It’s messy and “muddy,” featuring an irresistible dog shaker that “spits” out dice in the most adorable way possible. Thank you VR Distribution - We LOVE this game!

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) Super Cute Dice Game

This game brings the thrill of chance to life! You’ll never know who will come out on top until the very last round. Each player receives a “Little Stinker Card” (five included) and an equal share of the 20 dice. Set the stage by placing the “Mud Puddle Card” and “Bone Card” face up on the table. When it’s your turn, load up your dice into the Little Stinker Shaker— a squeezable silicone dog with a giant mouth that can swallow up almost ten dice in one go! Shake it up (don’t forget your lucky dance!) and spill the dice onto the table. Here’s where the fun begins: if you roll a “blank” (with a 50% chance), return the dice to your Little Stinker Card. Roll a dog? Pass that dice to a player of your choice! Roll a “Bone”? Discard it onto the Bone Card. And if you roll a “Mud Puddle,” place that dice on the Mud Puddle Card. But beware! If you don’t roll at least one Mud Puddle, you’ll have to take all the dice from the Mud Puddle Cards into your hands! The first player to discard all their dice wins the game.

(2) Clever Hint Of Strategy

I love the clever hint of strategy woven throughout! Players must constantly assess the situation and decide wisely whom to pass their dice to when they roll a Little Stinker. I love that the game encourages lovely friendships and even moments of teamwork as players navigate the playful chaos together. It’s a perfect blend of strategy, social interaction, and endless excitement!

(3) Incredibly Adorable Dog Shaker

The dog shaker is an instant hit with the kids - everyone loves shaking and jiggling it, and the dice tumble out smoothly, avoiding any chaotic rolls! The art style is simple yet adorable, and the beautifully designed packaging features organized inserts for all components.

(4) Two Sets Of Instructions - For Grown-Ups + Kids

The game thoughtfully includes two sets of instructions: a detailed guide for adults, and a fun, simplified version for kids (to be read aloud before the game).

Cauldron Quest, By Peaceable Kingdom - REVIEW

Nature / Type:             Board game

Rating:                        ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:    6 year-old ++

Who would love this:  Kids that love cooperative games, especially one with cool magic theme!

Cauldron Quest from Peaceable Kingdom is a remarkable cooperative game. I mean, who doesn’t love the idea of thwarting an evil plot with spell-breaking potion, and saving a kingdom as a team? Thank you VR Distribution for the fabulous recommendation!

Why I love ❤️ it:

(1) Cooperative Game With Great Mix Of Skill & Chance

I love a game with a great mix of skill and chance! In Cauldron Quest, players work together to discover hidden ingredients and move them to the cauldron at the center of the board, before all your 6 paths are obstructed. To set up, pick 3 “must-have” ingredient tokens and place them on the cauldron, and randomly arrange the 6 potion bottles at the starting spaces with the ingredient image face-down. On each turn, players roll the Action Dice to determine the next action - moving potion bottles closer to the cauldron, move evil Wizard Hat along its track (which may have the adverse effect of blocking your path or sending your potion back to the start), place path blocker on a path, or roll the Magic Dice. The Magic Dice give you special advantages which are pivotal to complete the mission.

(2) Magic Dice - Apply Your Mathematics Skills To Gain Advantage

Our favourite’s part of the game is Magic Dice rolling (3 rolling chances each time) - this is where we make the most meaningful decisions, whilst applying our mathematics skills. Players must decide which “spell” would confer the greatest advantage at that point. If you want to reveal the hidden ingredient of a bottle, you need even numbers on 3 dice. 3 odd numbers give us the power to swap locations of 2 potion bottles, and you get to move a bottle 6 spaces with a dice combination adding up to 12. We love the interesting choices! Players also get to decide collectively when to use a spell breaker to remove one path blocker during the game.

(3) Refreshing & Magical Artwork With COOL Theme!

We love the COOL theme of evil Wizard and potion-brewing. The artwork is very fun with a touch of mysterious and magical feel. The board is in a unique circular shape, and the ingredient selections are the “wizard’s classics” (rotten egg, eye of newt, poison mushroom - anyone?). The components are solid, the board is foldable, and everything looks well-constructed and wonderfully done. We LOVE it!

Fire Noodle Eating Champs, By ToToTam - REVIEW

Nature / Type:             Dice game

Rating:                        ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:    8 year-old ++

Who would love this:  Fast dice game with hint of skill element

I’m NOT a big fan of dice games - they’re too “random”, too “luck-based”, too unpredictable. BUT - “Fire Noodle Eating Champs” is a rare “dice game” that does it RIGHT. It gives a wacky delicious twist, with hint of skill and speed elements that makes the game so delightful and enjoyable! Thank you ToToTam for providing this - we’re loving it!

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) Competitive Dice Game With Zero Down-Time

Inspired by the video game created by Wombok Games , Fire Noodle Eating Champs is intense, competitive, with zero down-time. Included in it are 8 dice, 28 “noodle cards”, a trophy card, and a rule sheet. Each contestant starts with 4 topping dice and 4 noodle cards (for beginners, start with 2 x Fire Level 1, and 1 each of Fire Level 2 and 3). On the count of 3, players simultaneously flip over a noodle card, roll the dice (repetitively), and place matching dice to fill up the topping spaces on card. Once all topping spaces on a card are covered - “eat it” and move on to the next card. Sounds simple? Here’s the twist. If you roll a “Spicy” face, that die is put aside and cannot be rolled again unless you “reset” the process to roll 4 dice again (including those “matching dice” that are covering the topping spaces). The first player who finished up 4 “bowls” of spicy noodles and grabbed the Trophy card - wins the game! I love the intensity, instant actions, and the “honesty” element that makes this game so genuinely fun (we have to trust all players not to cheat).

(2) Spicy Noodles Theme - YUM!

Oh, and who can resist that heart-pounding excitement of spicy noodles. I love the “oriental” noodle theme - from spring onion garnish, kimchi for a kick of tanginess, marinated eggs, mushrooms, and fiery red chilli. The artwork is simple and adorable.

(3) Adjustable Difficulty Levels For All Ages

I love the adjustable levels - each Fire Level represents the number of ingredients (eg a card of Fire Level 4 would have 4 toppings on it). We can adjust the difficulty levels based on skill level / age of players. This is a fantastic family game!

(4) Sturdy Tin Metal Box

I love the sturdy and compact tin metal box. Each set has 8 dice for a 2-player challenge, with expandable potential (combining 2 or more sets) for more players.

Cluck, Cluck! The Fox! - Pocket Game, By Londji - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:            Board game for kids

Rating:                       ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:   4 - 8 year-old

Who would love this: Kids that love cooperative games

Londji makes the most beautiful games. Gorgeously illustrated and creatively designed, Londji games are created for kids and kids-at-heart who love a touch of magic. Today, I would love to share about “Cluck, Cluck! The Fox! - Pocket Game” (thank you Antipoda Co for providing a copy).

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) Mission-Driven: Work Together To Save The Eggs & Chickens

This is a smaller, pocket-version of the “Cluck, Cluck! The Fox” game. I love the mission-driven theme: players work together as an awesome dream team to save the eggs and chicken before the sneaky fox arrives. To set up the game: place 4 egg tokens in each of the 6 “nests”, and slot in a chicken (6 in total) at the side of each nest to protect the eggs. The fox is placed at the starting point of a winding road (that leads to the henhouse where the precious eggs and chickens are placed). Players take turn to roll the dice and perform the indicated action. When the dice shows a single egg, player collects an egg from one of the nests and moves it into an “egg box”. If 2 eggs are shown, player removes 2 eggs from a same nest (not from two different nests). When a “chicken” is rolled, we “save” a chicken when the nest it is guarding is empty (ie if all the eggs had been collected). When a fox is rolled, the crafty fox moves one space forward on the path towards the coop.

(2) Straightforward Game For Young Kids

I love how straightforward, non-overthinking this game is - which is quite perfect for kids of the age of around four-year-old ++. But, the game is more than just pure luck. To win this game, our young players need a combination of counting skills, rules-following, decision-making, cooperative work, and a small hint of strategy/ tactical moves.

(3) Travel-Easy, Pocket Game Version

This is a pocket game in travel-easy, minimalist format, yet it retains the playfulness of the original game. Londji games are designed and manufactured in Spain. The components are made from sustainably sourced / FSC paper and recycled cardboard, printed with vegetable ink. The set also comes with a cotton bag for easy storage of small items. Londji is a brand that takes pride of its sustainability mission. They are “toys with soul” indeed, where every details is taken care of.

Make A Mooove!, by FlexiQ Games - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:           Board game for kids

Rating:                       ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:   5 year-old ++

Who would love this: Kids who love speed and quick, fun games!

“Make A Mooove!” from FlexiQ Games is a speed game that gets your mind working (and twisting) and challenges the inter-connectedness of your brain neurons. It’s a game for all ages! Thank you VR Distribution for another awesome recommendation!

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) Speed Game That Gets Your Mind Working & Twisting!

This is a fast game that tricks your mind! Included within are 40 fruit cards (each contains 6 different fruits that appears in different quantities between 3 to 8 times), 4 dice, and a game instruction. In the “Standard Level” rules, we roll 1 of each number die, animal die and fruit die simultaneously. Now compared the dice against the top fruit card, and shout out the fruit that appears that number of times as per the number die. Eg - if you roll a “4”, and you see 4 bananas on the card - shout “banana” to win the card. But, here’s the twist: if you also roll a “banana” on the fruit dice, then instead of yelling the fruit name, make the sound of the animal that appears on the animal die (eg. “moo” for cow). This game needs fast reaction, precision (trust me, it’s not easy to group and count fruits under pressure!), and lightning quick observation!

(2) Advanced Level Option With 4 Dice

If you are playing with an older kid who prefers something more challenging- there is a “4 Dice” advanced level option. The game rules are substantially the same, save that now we mix in an extra fruit die. If both the fruit dice show the same fruit, players must ignore the other 2 dice and yell out the number of times that fruit appears on the card instead! This version is hilariously confusing and demands 100% focus!

(3) Adjust Difficulty Level With Easy Starter Variant

If all these are getting too overwhelming for your kids - you can also adjust the difficulty level and do a “1-Die” Simple option. Choose either a number die or fruits die only, and get your kids to name the fruit that match the number die / or yell the number of time a fruit appears on card. I’m loving the flexibility and “adaptability” of the game to suit different age groups and skill levels!

(4) Cute & Adorable Artwork

I’m loving the cute and eye-catching graphics. The animals are fun and silly, and who can resist a game with lots of juicy strawberries and tropical pineapples? Yum!

Numberblocks Race to Pattern Palace!, by hand2mind - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:            Board game for kids

Rating:                       ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:   3 year-old ++ (but my two kids, 5 and 7 year-old, love it too!)

Who would love this: Kids that love games and maths. A must-have for all Numberblocks fans!

Numberblocks is one of the selected few TV animated programmes that I truly enjoy watching with the kids - it’s witty, cute, and educational! Clover Street sent us this new “Race to Pattern Palace!” from hand2mind recently - and I can’t wait to tell you more about this spectacular game today!

Why I love ❤️ this toy:

(1) Learn Counting/ Colours/ Patterns In A Fun Way!

This game has 4 of our favourite Numberblocks characters as “heroes”- racing to the glamorous “Pattern Palace”, building bridges, whilst solving a series of maths-related problems! Seriously, how great is that! First, each player selects a Numberblocks Pawn (One, Two, Three, or Four) and places it on the starting space of the game board. Now, each player takes turn to press the dice popper. If you roll a colour, move your Numberblocks character to the next space with that colour/ or a multicolor space (whichever’s the nearest). If you roll a “6”, draw a “Six’s Tricks Card” and follow its directions (e.g. go forward 4 spaces, go back 3 spaces, roll again, skip a turn, move to the next bridge, and more). Along the way, players would also need to build “pattern bridges” to cross the rivers. The game reminds me slightly of the classic “Snakes and Ladders” game - but with more twists and turns, more cheerful and adorable graphics, and more “hidden” learning opportunities!

(2) Build Your Pattern Bridges With Challenge Cards

The kids absolutely LOVE building their pattern bridges! The set includes 4 bridges, 25 bridge tiles (5 colours), and 40 pattern challenge cards (divided into 2 levels of 20 each). Each bridge has empty spaces where 6 tiles can be clicked onto it. Level 1 is pretty straightforward (eg patterns with two colours alternating between each other), and level 2 consists of mostly challenges with three colours and trickier patterns (and also a chance to create your own pattern bridge!). Solutions are provided. This is a GREAT game to promote pattern and colour recognition.

(3) Great Components (Including A Durable Dice Popper)

My two kids are “aggressive” dice-throwers - I love the idea of a Dice Popper that keeps the dice safe within a durable plastic dome. I also love the foldable game board and the solid storage box.

Hurry Up Chicken Butt, By Exploding Kittens - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:           Cute action-packed game for young kids

Rating:                      ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:   4 year-old ++

Who would love this: Young kids - This is an awesome party game for kids around 4 year-old ++

I love watching the kids playing silly games, especially when it is a game involves numerous active movements, a clucking chicken, and endless laughter. 🤣 Thank you VR Distribution for recommending this energetic game called “Hurry Up Chicken Butt” by Exploding Kittens

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) A Cute Little Action-Packed Game For Little People

This game is action-packed! To set up, each player gets a nest card. Pick a card respectively from the blue (Go Around Everyone), green (Do It 5 Times), and purple (Show Off) decks. Each of the card will determine the actions to be performed by the players, depending on the colour reveals by the dice. There is also a pink “Chicken Butt” card (which is to be placed somewhere outside the playing area - a player is required to run and touch the card when it get a “pink” dice). Now, start the clucking chicken timer, shake it, and perform the required action based on the colour the dice lands (“rainbow” means player can perform any action, and “yellow” means roll again). Next, pass the clucking timer and place it on another player’s nest. The next player will likewise rush to get all actions done, before the chicken starts squawking noisily (which means the game ends and the last player that completed all tasks is the winner!). Our kids adore this game and have loads of giggling time rubbing belly, waddling like penguin, hopping on 1 foot, shouting out imaginary word - whilst trying their best to beat the chicken timer! This game is fast-paced, hilarious, unpredictable (everyone has an equal chance to win).

(2) Chicken Timer That Clucks And Makes Sound

The chicken timer is battery operated (you need 2xAAA cells - not included in the set). It makes funny and intense clucking sound that really sets the “urgent” mood, and I love that the dice is securely locked within the transparent chicken lid. I think this game will do marvellous magic in a party environment for kids around 4 year-old (but probably not so much for kids of 7 year-old or more).

(3) Super Adorable Artwork & Instructions For Kids

The artwork is adorable - each card has a cute yellow baby chick (still in its “egg nappy”) performing the required action. I also love the separate instructions written for grown-ups and for the kids.

Kraken Attack, by LOKI - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Family board game

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  7 year-old ++

Who would love this: Kids who love board games - especially one with COOL pirate theme & strategy elements

Oh the JOY whenever we discovered a fabulous board game that makes us want to do a celebratory dance! Kraken Attack by LOKI checks ✅ all the boxes of what our family loves! Thank you VR Distribution - another amazing recommendation!

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) Board Game With A BIG Mission - Defend Your Ship Against Kraken Attack!

I love a game with “important” mission that makes us feel like we’re part of a BIG adventure. Our crew of little buccaneers work together to defend their ship against the tentacles and Kraken monster! First, position the pirates at 4 quadrants of the ship, each guarded by two ship’s rails. Throughout the game, players roll the dice and watch the 8 tentacle figures moved closer to the ship, ready to tear away the wall and slam a hole to the ship. But fear NOT, our pirates are all gear-up for a battle; On each turn, players choose one of two face-up cards that allows them to launch a mixture of attacks (saber, pistol, cannon, wild) or repair a hole. “Funny face” on a card angers the Kraken and causes the aggressive creature to move closer towards the ship, until it eventually unleashes its full wrath and makes its way to the ship board. This will bring the dice total to six! The game ends when the ship suffers damage of 4 holes, or when players manage to place 3 attack tokens on the Kraken figurine.

(2) Cooperative Game With A Mix Of Skills & Chance

I love that this is a cooperative game that excites both kids and adults. There is a good mixture of luck (eg if you roll a dice with “eye” icon, every tentacles of matching colour move forward) AND strategy (players to decide which mode of attack to use and in what sequence). We love the “special abilities” of each pirate - for example, Samuel can ignore the unlucky “Eye” icon on the dice, Billy can fire a Cannon and push back all tentacles in Cannon zone on the same side of board etc. We also love elevating the challenge with “Whirlpool” tokens that can send the Tentacles and Kraken quicker to the ship.

(3) Awesome Components, COOL Artwork, & Amazing Storage Box

The components and the storage box are awesome! The tentacles are whimsical, the Kraken is pure glorious, the ship’s rails are sturdy and fun, the wooden pirate tokens are adorable. I love the quality and the engaging artworks!

Roll-A-Saurus, By Professor Puzzle - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Board game for young kids

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  4 year-old ++

Who would love this: Kids that love dinosaurs/ matching games/ competitive board games

I love it whenever I discover a new game that both of my kids (4 and 7 year-old) can play together despite the age gap. Jedko Games sent us a sample of “Roll-A-Saurus” by Professor Puzzle recently- this is a fun little game that really brings out the competitiveness in us, and would definitely delight any dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages!

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) Board Game With Dinosaur-Matching Fun

Included in this colourful and playful box are 45 Dinosaur Pieces, 4 Scene Cards, 2 Game Dice, T-Rex Trophy (with a stand), Fact Poster, and Instructions. The Dinosaur Pieces are made up of 5 different dinosaur species (marked with number 1 to 5), in 3 colours (orange, green, purple) and 3 patterns (spotty, stripy, plain). The aim of the game is pretty simple; Roll the two dice - one dice would show the colour and the other the pattern. Now, grab a dinosaur that matches the colour and pattern descriptions as shown on the dice. The game will repeat many rounds until a player completes a collection of 5 species of dinosaurs, who will be awarded the golden T-Rex trophy! The game is jam-packed with excitement, fast and furious reaction time, and non-stop laughter. This is a fantastic way for young kids to learn about colour, number, and pattern recognition.

(2) Matching Game Of Different Variants - Just Be Creative!

The instructions suggested an “easier mode” for young kids where only one dice is used, and “second chance” is given when a player grabs a wrong dinosaur. Our two kids have also come up with many other play variants. They sort the dinosaurs by species/ colours/ patterns; they race amongst themselves, snatching up as many dinosaurs as they can find that match the dice each round. They named the dinosaurs, created a prehistoric story scene, and queued them up in rows. It’s amazing to see how creative the kids can get when imaginations lead the way!

(3) Fact Poster To Learn About Dinosaurs!

The poster gives us some fun facts about each dinosaur; Do you know that some T-Rex were longer than a school bus? Triceratops were herbivores with 3 horns, brachiosauruses were about twice as tall as a giraffe, stegosauruses’ brains were as tiny as limes, and (probably the most “shocking” of all), pterodactyls weren’t actually dinosaurs!

Kezao, By Laboludic - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Colourful card game

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  6 year-old ++

Who would love this: Kids and adults - anyone who loves a quick & simple game with gorgeous artworks!

I love games with playful graphics and a hint of aesthetic touch. Recently, Divisible by Zero sent me Kezao from Laboludic - and I’m SO IN LOVE with it! This is a game that goes beyond and transcends all ages; everyone in the family enjoys this game - both kids and adults!

Why I love ❤️ this game:

(1) Quick, Easy & FUN Game - This is a simple game with easy rules. To start the game, distribute 7 cards to each player; pick two of the four dice, roll them, and race to find the card that depicts the colours combination indicated by the dice (for example, “with blue, but without yellow”). The first player to get rid of all their cards wins. This is an awesome game for colour recognition, brush up observation skills, and improve reaction time and reflexes. This game is “fast and furious” - dice are launched and thrown around, players frantically search their cards at the same time, and everyone plays simultaneously, with NO downtime.

(2) Different Ways To Play - I love that there are a few different “dice combinations” depending on which 2 dice we are using. We can choose two “colour dice” that would indicate the two colours that must be present in a picture; we can pick two dice with “crossed out colour” which shows the two prohibited colours; or we can use a colour dice and a “crossed out colour” dice. We also tested out using 4 dice at the same time (which was challenging but fun), and created a “slow and relax” variant to make it easier for our 4 year-old.

(3) The Gorgeous Artworks!!! - My favourite part? The quirky and artistic artworks by the French designer Aurelien Jeanney ! They are modern, vibrant, elegant, complete with clean lines and non-overlapping colours. It was a real joy admiring the wonderful wealth of illustrations on these 60 cards. The pictures range from the simple and straightforward (eg. green apples and yellow background), the slightly more complicated types (3-tiered birthday cake in no fewer than 4 colours and a bright red background), and the complex and exciting kinds (eg. colourful parrot / joker card).

(4) Awesome Travel Game - The cards are thick and are of good quality. I love how compact and portable the game is, which makes Kezao an ideal travel game!

My First Dice - Soft Blue & Soft Mint, By Jellystone Designs - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Silicone dice

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  9 month-old ++

Who would love this: Small kids exploring the magic of numbers

I’m a big fan of Jellystone Designs silicone sensory toys - they are irresistibly squishy and squashy, encourage open-ended play, versatile and stimulating! Today, I would like to share about “My First Dice - Soft Blue & Soft Mint”. Seriously, how CUTE are these dice!

Why I love ❤️ this toy:

(1) 2 Dice With Numbers & Images - “My First Dice” comes in a pack of 2 dice, each in the dimension of 6x6x6 cm. I love the adorable and chunky size - they are fun to hold and even funner to throw. The blue dice has numeral symbols 1 to 6 on each face, and I love the thoughtful tiny mark included at the bottom right of each of the number (which can help kids to identify the orientation of each numeral). For example, there is a small dot next to the lower part of number “6”, and a tiny square at the bottom right of “4”. The other dice in soft mint has a number of shapes on each face (matching the number 1 to 6), for example, “5” is represented by image of five triangles, “2” by two 5-sided pentagons, and “3” by three stars. There are so many ways to use these dice - roll them around and knock something down, play hopscotch with them, match up the symbols and the number of shapes, count the numbers, play a game of classic “snake and ladder”, or simply create new games with these multi-purpose dice!

(2) Tactile Images - The images on the surfaces are tactile in nature (slightly raised), providing an additional layer of sensory experience! These dice are soft enough for chewing, but sturdy enough to stay in their original cube shape. The cubes are durable and watertight - perfect for playdough, water, or any sensory activities!

(3) Beautiful Colours - I have been provided with the “Soft Blue & Soft Mint” dice for review. But like many Jellystone products, these dice also come in other colour ranges - “Bubblegum and Peach”, “Blush and Snow”, and “Sage and Berry”. There is sure a range that would capture your heart!

(4) Safe Material - Jellystone products are crafted using FDA approved, dishwasher-safe, toxic-free silicone. They are free from nasties (BPA, PVC & Phthalates), and in compliance with Australian standard for toy safety. I love that these dice are safe to go in bubs mouth and in bath.
