LOGICO Piccolo & Language - Picture Stories, By LOGICO - Review

Nature/ Type:            Educational learning kit

Rating:                       ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:   6 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents looking for screen-free educational learning kit

One frame, many uses. With LOGICO, kids can learn at their own pace and skill level. We can use the same board for a variety of activities - solving tricky mathematics questions, geometrical challenges, logical puzzles, learning about colours, or doing simple counting exercise. Today, I would love to share about another LOGICO Piccolo activity book - “Language - Picture Stories” (thank you LOGICO (Australia) for providing a copy).

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Screen-Free Frame With 10 Moveable Buttons

LOGICO Piccolo board looks like an iPad with blue frame - but it’s screen-free, non-electronic. It’s a handheld frame with 10 moveable, colourful buttons that can be used together with various LOGICO Piccolo activity booklets. First, insert an activity card into the slot. Read the instructions, identify the problems, recognise the connection, and push the coloured buttons to the correct spots. Concept wise, it’s similar to a “draw a line to connect” activity, but LOGICO makes the exercise more engaging with its cleverly-designed activity frame and tactile experience. The kids enjoy the games and love pushing the buttons around the frame.

(2) Activity Booklet With 16 Learning Cards & Games

LOGICO Piccolo is designed for kids from 5 to 9 year-old (for younger kids - check out LOGICO Primo). I love the selection of LOGICO activity booklets that cover a wide array of topics - from basic numbers and counting, colours and shapes, thinking skills, geometry, and more. This “Language - Picture Stories” has 16 learning cards in it - focuses on time sequence (which picture comes first and which next), causal relations (which tool was used that caused the change), and recognises object that is out of place/ does not match a picture story. I love that the activities use settings familiar to the kids, and accompanied with bright and interesting illustrations.

(3) Self-Checking Feature For Independent Learning

I think the self-checking feature is the BEST part! Once the puzzles are done, kids can flip the cards over and independently confirm the answers by comparing the colour of the buttons.

(4) Light-Weight & Compact Travel Kit

Piccolo board is light-weight, compact, with no loose components. It’s a fantastic on-the-go activity set to bring along for short travel or family vacation!

LOGICO Piccolo & Geometry 1, By LOGICO - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:            Learning Activities

Rating:                       ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:   6 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents looking for fun, screen-free activities for school-age kids

There are so much to love about LOGICO Piccolo. It’s screen-free and non-electronic, although its tablet-like appearance might remind you of an iPad from a quick glance. Both of my kids love LOGICO! Today, I would love to share about LOGICO Piccolo and another activity booklet that we really love - “Geometry 1”. (Thank you LOGICO (Australia) for providing a copy!).

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Colourful & Engaging Activity Board

LOGICO Piccolo is an activity board targeting kids of the age from 5 to 9 year-old (for younger kids - check out LOGICO Primo). Piccolo consists of a cleverly-designed handheld board with 10 colourful, tactile and chunky buttons that can move around the frame. There is a great selection of activity booklets that go with the Piccolo board. Insert an activity card into the slot, read the instructions, identify the problems, recognise the connection, find the matching colours, and push the buttons to the correct spots. There is an incredible series of “complex” thinking steps involved here, and I’m pretty impressed watching the kids enjoying the experience and “playing” with it like some really cool games!

(2) Activity Booklets With 16 Learning Cards

LOGICO activity booklets cover a diverse range of topics from colours, shapes, numbers, mathematics, language readiness,  and more. We tested out the “Geometry 1” booklet recently. I really enjoy the wide array of problems and logical thinking issues featured in the 16 learning cards. There are puzzles on finding the geometrical shapes that composed a figure, recognising objects from different perspectives, matching the position of an object, building patterns, and completing a sequence of patterns etc. The illustrations are colourful, and the activities are thought-provoking and fun!

(3) Self-Checking Feature For Independent Learning

We LOVE the self-checking feature! Once the puzzles are done, kids can flip the cards over and confirm the answers independently by looking at the coloured buttons printed on the reverse of each card.

(4) Light-Weight, Compact & Travel-Friendly

This is a fantastic educational resources which would stand the test of time. Similar to the Primo frame - Piccolo board is light-weight, compact, with no loose components. It is a marvellous travel companion!

LOGICO Piccolo & School Readiness, By LOGICO - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:             Learning games

Rating:                       ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:   5 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents looking for unique, screen-free learning tools!

If you’re looking for something educational, not too ordinary, and can grow with the kids, then you should really check out the range at Logico (Australia) . Today, I would love to share about LOGICO Piccolo and one of its activity booklet - “School Readiness”.

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) LOGICO Piccolo - A Smartly-Designed Board With 10 Moveable Buttons

Our kids love LOGICO Primo and solving multiple puzzles using the 6 buttons board. LOGICO Piccolo is a more advanced version of this screen-free board, targeting kids of the age range of 5 to 9 year-old. I LOVE that Logico “feels” like an IPad, but it’s absolutely non-electronic! The Piccolo board includes 10 colourful, tactile and chunky (but slightly smaller than Primo’s) buttons that can move around the frame. The board works with the Piccolo activity booklets and their learning game cards. It’s incredible to watch how my little “baby” girl grows from being a Primo-fan, to now a Piccolo-lover! She ENJOYS the activities - identifying the issues, recognising connection, matching the corresponding colours, and pushing the buttons to their correct spots. Piccolo is the great example of how kids can learn through play!

(2) 16 Learning Cards In One Booklet Of Diverse Topics & Skills

Piccolo covers a diverse range of interesting topics and stimulating activities. If you have a kid who is starting school soon (like my little girl over here), then the “School Readiness” booklet is an awesome choice for this holiday season! The set comprises 16 learning cards - covering activities such as putting pictures in order, matching tools to images, identifying a pattern, finding the missing “dominoes”, spotting the odd object in a row etc. The illustrations are colourful, and the activities are thought-provokingly fun!

(3) Clever Self-Checking Feature For Independent Learning

I LOVE the self-checking feature! Once the puzzles are done, kids can flip the cards over and confirm the answers independently by looking at the coloured buttons printed on the reverse of each card.

(4) Light Weight & Travel-Easy

This is a fantastic educational resources which would stand the test of time. Similar to the Primo frame - Piccolo board is light-weight, compact, with no loose components. It is a marvellous travel companion!

“LOGICO Primo” - Numbers Up To 10, by LOGICO - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Screen-free learning games

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  5 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents looking for non-electronic learning games for kids

One GREAT thing about LOGICO Primo: they grow with the kids! We have tested out 3 different activity booklets from Logico (Australia) ; “Thinking Skills” is fantastic for 3-year-old, "Comparing Quantities” targets kids around 4 year-old. Today, I’m going to share about “Numbers Up To 10” activity book which is aiming for kids around 5 year-old.

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Non-Electronic Learning Game - Logico is a non-electronic game that “feels” like an IPad, but is screen-free. It is a breath of fresh air amidst many battery-operated and fast-paced games in market. To play with LOGICO Primo, you need a Primo board - which is a tablet-sized frame with colourful, tactile and chunky moveable buttons. With this, you can insert game cards of different skill levels into the slot and kickstart the learning. LOGICO encourages kids to solve problems by performing multiple stages of thinking, from comprehending the question, identifying the answers, matching the colours, to pushing the buttons. It is incredible watching the kids playing with it!

(2) Skill Level & Age Specific Activities - Each activity booklet covers a specific area (shapes, colours, logical thinking, mathematics) and targets specific age bracket. For example, in “Comparing Quantities”, kids can complete the activities with just basic counting skill. For this “Numbers Up To 10”, kids need to do more than counting to solve the 16 puzzles; they need to be able to identify the actual numeral symbols (from 1 to 10). The activities include matching numeral symbols to the picture with identical number of objects, figuring out the “missing number” from a sequence, and comparing two sets of number (“more or less”). The illustrations are engaging, and the activities are arranged with progressive difficulty.

(3) Self-Check Answers! - The best feature is the self-checking system! Once the puzzles are done, kids can simply flip the cards over and confirm the answers independently. I love that these games give the kids a sense of achievement!

(4) Quality - This is a fantastic educational resources which would stand the test of time. The PRIMO frame is light-weight, solid, and compact, with no loose components. It is a marvellous travel companion!

“Comparing Quantities” LOGICO Primo, By LOGICO - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Educational Games/ Learning Resources

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  4 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents looking for screen-free educational resources/ mathematics learning worksheets in a fun and unique way!

With so many visually-stimulating and screen-centric learning resources in the market, I find LOGICO to be such a breath of fresh air. Today, I’m going to share about the “Comparing Quantities” LOGICO Primo set from Logico , a non-electronic educational toy perfect for young kids who enjoy anything engaging, not too fast-paced, and different!

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Non-Electronic Educational Game - Appearance wise, LOGICO Primo feels like a tablet with pushable buttons on an iPad-sized frame; but it’s non-electronic, non-battery-operated. It’s an educational game on a smartly-created frame, completes with double-sided learning cards. It’s a “matching” activity in an interesting and tactile way. “Comparing Quantities” is a mathematics counting game, but you don’t need to know the numerals (the actual symbols like 1, 2 and 3) to do the activities (which is perfect for young kids who have yet to learn how to write). There are multiple “thinking process” involved to complete the activities; first, solve the puzzle; next, match the colours; and lastly, push the 6 colourful PRIMO buttons around the board right next to the answers. It’s just pure joy watching the kids challenging themselves to another level!

(2) 16 Counting Activities - This set contains 16 mathematics games with a focus on counting up to 10. I love the bright and delightful illustrations. We started with the simple “matching pictures with same quantity” game, to the slightly more challenging “guess the dice number” game by counting the coloured dots on the path, “find the missing number”, and identifying which picture has “more” or “less”. I love that there are varying difficulty levels, from the straightforward activity, to the slightly trickier ones.

(3) Self-Check - The best part? The self-checking system definitely! Once the puzzles are done, simply flip the learning cards over, compare and confirm the answers. We love how LOGICO encourages independent learning.

(4) Easy-To-Travel PRIMO Frame - The PRIMO frame is light-weight, solid, with easy-to-manoeuvre and chunky push-buttons. I love that it’s such a compact board with no loose components, portable, easy to be brought around, and perfect for travel!

We love it!

LOGICO Primo- Thinking Skills, by LOGICO - REVIEW

Nature/ Type:          Non-electronic educational game with frame + learning cards

Rating:                     ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Recommended age:  3 year-old ++

Who would love this: Parents + young kids who enjoy learning through play!

We received a LOGICO Primo frame and learning card sets from LOGICO (Australia) for review, and we are THRILLED! We have a super exciting weekend testing out the “LOGICO Primo- Thinking Skills” set, and I can’t wait to tell you more about it today!

Why I love ❤️ this set:

(1) Clever & Engaging Educational Game - LOGICO is a cleverly-designed educational game with great expandable potential. It reminds me of an IPad learning game, but minus the negative effects associated with electronic device. It also reminds me of a traditional “draw a line to match” worksheet, but in a more entertaining and tactile way! I am amazed watching my three-year-old repeatedly performed and completed her “3-steps mental process” when resolving the puzzles: first, she identified the answer; next, she matched the colours; Lastly, she pushed the 6 colourful PRIMO buttons around the board to position them at their correct spots. It looks complex, yet somehow it makes sense to the kids!

(2) Perfect For 3-Year-Old & Above - The “Thinking Skills” set contains 16 engaging and age-appropriate logic games for a 3-year-old with appealing illustrations. We enjoyed the games, from “finding the missing part”, matching the right “tool” to an activity (eg scissors to craftwork), and identifying the “missing” object. I love that the level gets more challenging progressively; it started off with straightforward tasks, and gradually moves to something trickier that command greater thinking skills (eg the “match the butterflies” game requires kids to closely observe the differences between 6 butterflies that have substantially similar patterns and colours). There is never a dull moment with LOGICO!

(3) Self-Check Answers - Once the kids have resolved the puzzles, they can flip the learning cards over and compare the answers. The self-checking system is amazing. My girl LOVES that she can play with this independently!

(4) Quality - The PRIMO frame is light-weight but solid. The push buttons are easy to manoeuvre, and I love that it doesn’t have any loose components, meaning we can easily bring LOGICO around. It can be played in the car, on the couch, or anywhere!

Stay tuned for more reviews of LOGICO activity sets!
