Who would love this: Anyone! It's fun to learn & create patterns using this

Q Toys makes all things beautiful and classy! Some time ago, I read about the Waldorf multiplication ring. I was truly excited when I realised QToys produced its own Steiner Inspired Maths Learning Wheel!

Why I love ❤️ this toy:

(1) Learn Multiplication- I love how a simple concept can bring out so many possibilities. The set comes with a wooden wheel with 10 numbered and protruded pegs neatly distributed around the rim, a cord and a double-sided activity card. This is a fantastic tool to introduce multiplication; we started by doing a little spin around “2”, and continued winding the yarn around each alternate pegs of “4”, “6”, “8”, “0” (or “10”), continued on to “2” again (or “12” in the logic of the wheel) and so forth. We soon created a pentagon by using these numbers from the 2 X table. Next, we tried it with “3”, “6”, “9” etc, this time ensuring that there was a gap of 2 numbers in between each spin. After circling the cord around the wheel 3 times, we got an amazing star pattern formed with a complex and enchanting dynamic. We talked about the differences between even and odd numbers, and the interrelationship between addition and multiplication. I never knew multiplication could be that visually fun!

(2) Creations- Sometimes, the kids just want to see what magic this learning wheel can create, by randomly stretching and winding the cord around the pegs in various orders. The outcomes are thrilling, and sometimes, a little unexpected. The guided activity sheet gives us marvellous ideas of the shapes and patterns that this circular board can make. I love that this tool can be used by young kids to train up fine motor skills and dexterity at an early learning stage. My three-year-old loves identifying the numbers using this wheel (she affectionately calls this the “wooden clock”).

(3) Wooden Material- I love the durable and heart-warming timber material. I love that everything from QToys always look so authentically natural; they are great toy, learning resources, and spectacular home decorative item.

(4) The Brand Itself- I love QToys mission to work towards zero waste target, and that each QToy is a product of craftsmanship from highly skilled workers.
