Ahhh, multiplication tables, those series of unpleasant memories involving “meaningless” regurgitation and rigid memorisation. I am so grateful to Colourful Learning Toy Store for sending this Times Tables set to me. The 5 year-old loves his first taste of times tables, and I am so pleased to see him enjoying the learning with the aid of these colourful and creative resources! I wish I had these when I was young!
Why I love ❤️ this kit:
(1) Useful Learning Aids - The set comes with 12 times table boards, 288 double-sided flash cards, 1 progress chart, 1 times tables desk mat, 1 marker, and 2 smartly created polyhedral dice. The 12 times table boards are in good A4 size and printed on glossy thick sheets. I love that we get to space-out the learning progress, one board at a time, from the easy 1 times table, to the basic 2 times, 3 times, and more complicated 4 times and so on. The equation flash cards have the “questions” (e.g 1x2 or 3x3) on one side, and “answers” on the other side (eg 2 or 9), which is really awesome for self-checking purposes. I love that the boards and flash cards are categorised in different colours. We combine our learning with the Daju Toys linking maths cubes, which serves as an excellent visual aid. The double-sided desk mat has the full times tables chart from 1x to 12x on one side, and a multiplication grid (that allows us to find patterns within the table) on the other side. I love how these cards take away the “mystery” of multiplication, and make it visually exciting and colourful!
(2) Games- I love the suggested games and ideas, and the very unique 12-sided polyhedral dice. There is bingo with the flash cards, “Roll ‘em out” using the double dice, “beat the clock” by timing our multiplication skills, and multi-player challenge “knock out” etc. I love how the set incorporates fun and innovative games into learning!
(3) Reusable Worksheets- I love the wipeable worksheets with equation practice questions and examples on how multiplication works.
(4) Sturdy Box- I also love the sturdy storage box that keeps everything neat and organised in one container.
This is an awesome kit that makes daunting times tables interesting and engaging!
